Epidermis-specific Lss knockout mice showed neonatal lethality due to dehydration, indicating that LSS could be involved in skin barrier integrity. Knockout of Lss in the epidermis caused hypotrichosis in adult mice. Lens-specific Lss knockout mice had cataracts. 32101538
